PIETER ABTS, FOUNDER
Pieter Abts founded Luxembourg-based Abts & Partners in 2000, motivated by the need for an independent all-round family office supporting his family.
Pieter holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the Universities of Leuven in Belgium and Tübingen in Germany, where he specialized in banking and finance, as well as an additional qualification in Financial Planning from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
In order to apply the newly-obtained knowledge from university, he started his career in 1995 as a private banker in Luxembourg, acquiring extensive professional experience as a portfolio manager at Cogeba-Gonet and senior relationship manager at ING Luxembourg.
SOPHIE KIEFFER, DIRECTOR, LUXEMBOURG
Living in Luxembourg, Sophie was graduated from the University of Louvain (Belgium) with a master’s degree in Economics and a diploma of complementary studies in business administration (IAG). She has a strong background in Sales and Asset Management and has been responsible for Business Development and Marketing Policy within a major local financial player and has specific knowledge in implementing added value products and services throughout major networks.
PHILIPPE GARGILL, DIRECTOR, LUXEMBOURG
Philippe benefits from more than 30 years of experience in financial services. Thanks to his extensive education (Master in Informatics, a certification as a Financial Analyst and in Compliance), he has acquired vast business knowledge within regulatory, operational and financial products in retail and private banks, as well as in Asset Management firms. Beginning his career by working for 10 years as an IT team leader for a large bank, he later orientated towards various areas within Banking, while still putting special emphasis on the regulatory aspects over the last 10 years and finally joining Abts & Partners in 2017.
LAURENCE KRANSKENS, OFFICE MANAGER, LUXEMBOURG
After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in “Management Assistant”, Laurence started her career as a flight attendant at a Belgian airline company. Her passion for planes and human interaction made her work there for 5 years. In 2005, Laurence decided to change her life and return to her first profession as an Executive Assistant. After a first job at a fiduciary, followed by 11 years at a well-known Wealth Management firm in Luxembourg, she has become Office Manager at Abts & Partners in early 2018.
